While we await possible new music from Jennifer Pena, let’s remember what a force the young singer was, first in Tejano music, and then the international, Regional Mexican and Latin Pop markets from the late 1990s through the late 2000s.
Let’s look back at an interview Tejano Beat did in 2009 as the singer made an impromptu performance at the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair in historic Market Square in downtown San Antonio. Her appearance at the hugely popular festival was considered somewhat of a comeback as she had already started stepping out of the limelight to tend to her marriage to fellow singer Obie Bermudez and handle her duties as a new mother.
Watch the brief video as Pena was gracious enough to answer our questions as she signed autographs, and at the same time, as she learned, on camera, that her booth at the Fan Fair was being shut down! But she handled it all in stride and we love her for that!
