I love these new post formats on WordPress. This is a status post – and my first one - so here goes…

WAY OVERDUE: Calle 13 pics are on the way from Austin’s Pachanga Fest on May 11-12….. AND a short and sweet interview with Chingo Bling, a rapper/comedian/immigrants rights activist and all-around performer and entrepreneur. I had heard of him for a while and really wanted to meet him. He was patient despite the soggy tents that spilled water on us during the interview – embarrassing – and he is definitely a man with a plan. So keep posted for that video interview!

CALLE 13 PICS and CHINGO BLING VIDEO are next on my list – promise!

August, September bring major Latino star power to S.A.

Latino music fans: Get ready as several mega star-powered concerts make stops in S.A. in the coming months.

First, the diverse trio of heavyhitting headliners, JLo, Enrique Iglesias and Wisin y Yandel, will fill the AT&T Center with Latin dance, pop, and thumping reggaeton on Aug. 23. Not to be outdone, Marc Anthony and his heart-melting voice makes up a third of another triple headliner concert on Sept. 8 with Chayanne and Marco Antonio Solis who come together for the appropriately-named Gigantes tour.

If that weren’t enough, updates on People En Espanol’s Labor Day Weekend festival announce that the-one-and-only heartthrob with a voice to match, Luis Miguel, will perform, along with major acts including Daddy Yankee and Prince Royce. Rain or Shine: Austin’s PachangaFest will mix it up

Austin’s two-day PachangaFest starring Calle 13, Chingo Bling (pictured and linked) and friends on Friday night and Los Lonely Boys, Girl in a Coma, Ruben Ramos and more on Saturday will go on rain or shine – at latest report.

TejanoBeat will make the trek up to Austin Friday to (try!) and see what it’s all about. Austin knows live music and from past experience, live Latin music is no exception.

Keep checking PachangaFest.com or the fest’s Facebook page for the latest.
