Question on La Mafia
Somebody asked about La Mafia’s 30-year-anniversary and the album that is coming out to commemorate that. I
checked the La Mafia Web site and it looks like they’re working on a live album for 2010. They have re-recorded the song, “Oh, Girl,” for this album. Visit their Web site to hear the song and visit their MySpace, too. Armando usually keeps up their Twitter so you might want to join that, too. I will keep you posted though with the latest news when I find out.
Thanks for your question and for visiting the site!
Major Tejano merger: Tejano Music 2010
An exciting merger was announced today in San Antonio that could mean a reinforced Tejano Music Awards and a stronger, united Tejano music presence.
And it happened just in time – and possibly because of – the 30th anniversary of the Tejano Music Awards Show.
“TEJANO MUSIC 2010″ will take place July 9-11, 2010, in San Antonio.
Read an excerpt from the press release and stay tuned for more.
From the press release: “TEJANO MUSIC 2010 will bring together the Tejano Music Awards and the Tejano Music National Convention in an unprecedented display of unity from two of the most influential events in the music genre. Olathe, Kansas-based LatinPointe will produce TEJANO MUSIC 2010 weekend.
“We are pleased to have the Tejano Music Awards join with the Tejano Music National Convention in celebrating our historic 30-year anniversary,” says Frank Salazar, TTMA Board Vice President, “Having the top producers from important events such as the Latino Inaugural Gala, ALMA Awards and Premios Deportes reinforces our belief that this year’s Tejano Music Awards will be spectacular.”
