Exclusive interviews and pics: Sissi and Makano – Premios Texas 2009
The concert was canceled because of rain but that didn’t stop Tejano Beat from capturing two exclusive interviews with the stars of tomorrow’s Premios Texas in Austin.
Sissi, former host of Sabado Gigante with Don Francisco, and Makano, reggaeton/romantic style artist from Panama, graciously granted us interviews despite the rained out concert that drove the crowds reluctantly away.
See pics here of the events of the evening and get ready for a video preview of the stars who are a
big part of tomorrow’s awards show.

At right, Anthony does his first on-camera interview with Sissi in the Long Center for Performing Arts. Fans watch on from outside and you can see the beautiful Austin skyline, too.

Do not apologize for not speaking Spanish. Texas was a Spanish territory over 200 hundred years ago. It was only under Mexican rule for l4 years. People should be amazed that anyone still speaks the language. You’re doing fine. You’re proud of being Tejana and that’s what matters. My son’s perform conjunto music and do not speak Spanish. They understand it . They’re descended from their first Spanish ancestor who was born here in l753. Life goes on.
