Missing Michael, Best Birthday Gift Ever
I’m still in shock about Michael Jackson’s sudden death and saddened about the mysterious circumstances surrounding it. But like always, Michael’s music is helping me feel better and instead focus on his seemingly magical ability to entertain audiences around the world with that voice and those moves.
I turned 6 in 1984 and got the best birthday present ever. You can tell by my reaction how I felt about my Thriller album and about Michael Jackson. I don’t know what those other three gifts on the table were but I’m sure they were nice, too!
Earlier this year, I bought the special edition Thriller CD and marveled at how his songs still moved me.
It’s understandable that the media must include all aspects of his life when they report on this story, but I like to remember the Michael on stage and in his groundbreaking music videos – dancing with his signature spinning, popping and gliding and singing with that smooth, emotional sound.
It was obviously lonely at the top for Michael but his music and his magic will continue to make people happy for a long, long time to come. I hope that he realized that during his life or at least knows it now.
Thanks Michael for introducing me to the power of music and dance!
