The Premios a la Música Latina 2009 takes place Thursday, March 12, 2009, in San Antonio’s Majestic Theatre. Fans can vote online by SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 2009, for Best Norteno group, which includes nominees Michael Salgado, Siggno, Los Palominos and Intocable, among others.
Keep reading for more information on the Premios as the big date nears.
An interview with Rebecca Valadez and Stefani Montiel from a talent expo on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. Rebecca talks about her first love and her career plans while Stefani talks about her scary experience at the TMA Kickoff last month when a fan pulled her off stage. Both ladies talk about “Las Voces de Tejas,” a mariachi collaboration that also features Shelly Lares, Patsy Torres and Leslie Lugo.
Keep checking. I’m trying to get better about posting and producing videos more quickly – thanks!

Get the latest on Michael Salgado, who is up for an award on March 12 at the Premios a la Musica Latina in San Antonio, Texas. He’s Tejano to me but his music is more on the Norteno-sounding side so he’s nominated in the Norteno category.
In his interview, he talks about upcoming projects that include an all-corrido CD (traditional, no narcocorridos here!) and a tribute to Ramon Ayala, an idol of Salgado’s.

Tejano fans could head out to Rosedale Park on Sunday for the Miller Lite Rodeo Roundup and see Chente Barrera, Los TexManiacs, LosDesperadoz, Elida Reyna and Michael Salgado!
San Antonioans are lucky to have these options, especially if the rodeo entertainment wasn’t doing it for you on Sunday. And San Antonio loves their Tejano artists, too. Before Elida went up, a young guy walked up to me asking when Elida was going on. He had a framed photo of her and everything. She got the crowd going with all of her hits, including Luna Llena, Duele and Elida’s Medley! It was a great show. Michael and Los Desperadoz did great, too.
Check out our interviews with Michael Salgado and Elida Reyna. A video just went up today of them interviewing each other about their duet, Quedemos Como Amigos, which is on Michael Salgado’s CD, Con Amor o Sin Amor. It’s available on iTunes, too.
Elida and Michael look great on camera and should host their own show. More of their interviews – both together and separately – coming up later in the week. For now, check out the pics and the video of their duet on YouTube.
